Trojan Lighting Solutions speelde een centrale rol in een verlichtingsproject voor de gezondheidszorg in het St Thomas’ Hospital in Londen. Het project bestond uit het reconditioneren van verouderde fluorescentiearmaturen op locatie en het upgraden ervan met energie-effici\u00ebnte LED gear trays, Tridonic<\/a> sturingen en intelligente Mymesh nodes<\/a>. Dankzij deze retrofitoplossing kon de NHS Trust zijn verlichtingssysteem moderniseren zonder de pati\u00ebntenzorg te verstoren. <\/p>\n

De belangrijkste reden voor het behoud van de bestaande armaturen was om te voorkomen dat het metalen ge\u00efntegreerde plafond van het ziekenhuis zou worden verstoord, wat tot aanzienlijke overlast voor de pati\u00ebnten op de afdelingen zou hebben geleid. David Crane, hoofd technische dienst, merkte op dat het duurzaamheidsaspect van het hergebruik van de lampen in eerste instantie een secundair voordeel was. De focus was om de infrastructuur te behouden en tegelijkertijd de functionaliteit te verbeteren. <\/p>\n

Een belangrijke motivatie achter de upgrade was het automatiseren van het testen en rapporteren van noodverlichting, een proces dat de tijd van twee fulltime leden van het facilitaire team in beslag had genomen. Door het draadloze Mymesh-systeem te implementeren, kon de Trust de noodzaak van handmatig testen elimineren, de werkzaamheden stroomlijnen en tegelijkertijd de energie-effici\u00ebntie verbeteren. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Een van de uitdagingen was ervoor te zorgen dat de nieuwe technologie niet zou interfereren met gevoelige klinische apparatuur. Het medische fysicateam van het ziekenhuis uitte aanvankelijk zijn bezorgdheid over mogelijke radiofrequentie-interferentie. Na uitgebreide tests werd het Mymesh systeem echter goedgekeurd voor gebruik, wat de weg vrijmaakte voor implementatie op de hele locatie. <\/p>\n

De oplossing van Trojan leverde niet alleen energiebesparingen op. De integratie van Mymesh nodes gaf de Trust meer controle over het verlichtingssysteem in de gezondheidszorg. De nieuwe intelligente armaturen werden gekoppeld aan bezettingssensoren, waardoor de verlichting kon worden gedimd of uitgeschakeld in functie van het gebruik van de ruimte, wat bijdraagt tot de energie-effici\u00ebntie zonder de veiligheid in het gedrang te brengen. <\/p>\n

Het succes van het project heeft geleid tot verdere uitrol van het Mymesh systeem over de hele St Thomas’ site, met toekomstige plannen om de technologie uit te breiden naar Guy’s Hospital, een andere faciliteit binnen de NHS Trust. Dit project onderstreept de flexibiliteit en duurzaamheid van Trojans verlichtingsoplossingen, die een schaalbare en milieuverantwoorde aanpak bieden voor moderne verlichtingsupgrades in zorgomgevingen. <\/p>\n
