Brent Cross Shopping Centre car park lighting

Brent Cross Shopping Centre Car Park

Trojan Lighting was appointed to deliver a car park lighting upgrade at Brent Cross Shopping Centre, one of London’s busiest retail destinations. Working in collaboration with GA Harpers, the project involved replacing legacy lighting in a multi-storey car park with high-performance, intelligent LED luminaires, improving efficiency, safety, and long-term reliability.

With Brent Cross offering over 8,000 free parking spaces year-round and a reputation for safety, accessibility and convenience, lighting plays a vital role in the customer experience. The new system needed to improve visibility, enhance safety, reduce energy use and integrate with existing infrastructure. Minimising disruption to car park operations during installation was also a key requirement.

Trojan supplied Grimrod LED luminaires, all integrated with Mymesh wireless controls to enable smart operation, energy optimisation and fault reporting. The installation included standard Grimrod non-corrosive fittings and Grimrods with emergency functionality, full integration with the Mymesh mesh-based wireless control platform.

The Grimrod range was selected for its proven durability and optical performance in harsh environments. Built with a robust GRP body, polycarbonate diffuser, and stainless-steel fittings, it offers IP66 and IK08 ratings, making it ideal for exposed and high-traffic areas like car parks. With an efficacy of up to 152 lm/W and a 100,000-hour rated life (L90/B10), it delivers excellent long-term value.

Each luminaire was supplied with Tridonic dimmable drivers and pre-configured for Mymesh integration, enabling remote scene setting, occupancy detection and real-time diagnostics.
