Kellanova’s UK HQ

We supplied lighting for a major upgrade at Kellanova’s prestigious UK headquarters in Landsec owned, MediaCity. The project covered three floors of office space measuring 46,000 sq ft and housing 420 employees. The upgrade aimed to reduce energy use, meet updated compliance standards, and introduce smart building controls, without disrupting day-to-day operations. 

On this project we worked with our long-term partners and leading FM company, Altec Facilities Management, who were contracted by CBRE to lead the installation and project delivery. We provided 427 Lando recessed modular luminaires to support both open-plan and enclosed working areas with even, reliable and high-efficiency illumination. To accommodate Kellanova’s bespoke ceiling system, we also supplied custom brackets to adapt our standard Lando fittings, removing the need for major ceiling alterations.

As part of the emergency lighting strategy, we supplied 10 Heathgate Surface Emergency Exit Signs, with all fittings installed in accordance with BS 5266-1. The overall lighting design followed CIBSE SLL Lighting Guides (LG07) to ensure performance across the workspace.

To support energy management and operational control, we commissioned a Mymesh wireless lighting network, including an Ethernet Gateway, PIR sensors, and access to the Lumitel dashboard. The system gives the facilities team full control over lighting zones, real-time usage data, and the ability to make changes without needing to access fittings, helping them manage energy and lighting across the floors more efficiently.

From receiving the order to final installation, the full process was extremely quick, taking under two months. This is a great example of effective coordination, focused delivery, and a shared work ethic between Trojan and Altec.

The upgrade also contributes to Kellanova’s wider sustainability targets by cutting carbon and introducing smart infrastructure aligned with modern workplace standards.
