We have been named Recolight’s Carbon Reduction Champion for November following a refit project at West Quay Shopping Centre.
The recognition was awarded after we achieved the highest weight collected in a single Recolight lamp recycling container across Recolight’s national network during the month. By maximising the amount collected in each container, fewer collections were required, helping to reduce carbon emissions associated with transport.
Reducing the number of vehicle movements is a simple but effective way to lower environmental impact. Fewer collections mean fewer trips, lower fuel use and reduced emissions, while still ensuring that end-of-life lighting equipment is recycled responsibly.
Trojan works with Recolight’s UK-wide recycling services to responsibly manage lighting waste and comply with WEEE regulations. This recognition highlights the role that careful logistics and on-site processes can play in improving sustainability outcomes across large commercial projects.
